Description  

This option takes 3 days and 2 nights to conquer Fansipan Mount, offers more chances for discovering wild life and help to avoid trekking the same way back which may cause bores. On the other hand it yields chances to explore some remote and isolated hamlets of the Black H’mong along the way back. Feeling of success pluses great view from the top of the Mount is an excellent award to your sacrifices.

ITINERARY

Night 1: Take overnight train from Hanoi to Lao CaiPlease, be ready at your hotel lobby at 20.00 for a short transfer to Hanoi railways station for taking the overnight train (first class 4 beds cabin with air-condition) which arrive in Lao Cai city, near the Chinese border next morning.  

Day 1 // Lao Cai // Sapa Highlights

 The train arrives at Lao Cai station early at about 06.00, meet your guide and driver as you check out and an hour transfer uphill the Hoang Lien Son mountains to Sapa. Great views of valleys and terraced rice fields! After Breakfast your guide will show you around for a brief introduction of this charming town. At the market, ethnic minority people of different groups wearing their traditional costumes made by themselves comes every day selling local products includes vegetable, bamboo shoot, mushroom, medicinal herbs and souvenirs…there are chances to get intact and taking photos. Later you will follow the footsteps uphill to the top of Ham Rong Mountain for over viewing beautiful scenery of the town and surrounding area, paying visit to an orchard garden and a mini museum which tell you a lot about ethnic minority people living in Sa Pa and the northwest region. Later in the afternoon, you may wish to drop in a local terraced café to enjoy your self as the cloud comes and goes.

Day 2 // Sapa // Tram Ton Pass //

2,900m Mount camping Take a jeep transfer 18 km via Silver Water Fall to Tram Ton Pass at 1,900m. From here trek through thick tropical jungle, passing some isolated Black H’mong hamlets. Stop for Lunch at a nice sport with great view of the west side area. Continue through the thick jungle, the trail gets narrower and steeper. Some part is really slippery and dangerous but the nature get wilder and wilder. We reach to the top of a mountain at 2,900m where our camp will be set for staying overnight.

Day 3 // Mount 2,900m camp // Fansipan Mount // Mount 2,700m camp   

Wake up and Breakfast, we follow a narrow trail passing through forest and bamboo bushes, which get smaller and shorter as we approaching to the peak. After 2 hours challenging up the steep path, you will reach to the top Fansipan Mount. Congratulation! Staying here to enjoy your success as well as great view of a ever green scenery stretching under your feet.The way back, of course less hard but still dangerous. Arriving back to the 2,900m camp at noon, we have long break for Lunch and recovery.Most of the trail in the afternoon takes you downhill but very dangerous because many part of the trail is just a narrow track on the steep side of the mountains. Late afternoon, We station at a nice sport on the top of a 2,700m mount, put up our camp, cook our Dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4 // Mount 2,700m camp // Sin Chai Village // Sapa  

Waking up in the freshness and pureness of wild nature, enjoy breakfast. The trail today is less tough and go through a well protected area of the Hoang Lien Son nature reservation, one of the wildest part, rich in plantation and wildlife.After Lunch at a nice sport, we continue down hill to Sin Chai Village where we spend an hour visiting this pretty Black H’mong village before transferring by car to Sapa.

Day 5 // Full day at your leisure //

Overnight train back to Hanoi Today is set at your leisure in Sapa but be kindly notice that your hotel room is not booked for late check out. Pick up and transfer down hill to Lao Cai for taking overnight train to Hanoi.

• Overnight on the train in first class 4 bed cabin with air-conditioning
